Overview

The floor insulation was provided using an expanded polystyrene core composite panel laid onto a vapour control membrane. Rope access techniques were adopted for the application of vapour seals which are paramount to the success of the installation due to the extreme climatic conditions.

Since the completion of Xscape, Central Milton Keynes in 2001, Jim McVeigh has designed and projected managed the other UK ski enclosures at Castleford, West Yorkshire and Braehead Glasgow, Chill Factore Manchester and Hemel Snow Centre in Hertfordshire.
