Greenlands (Reading University)
McVeigh offsite were appointed by Main Contractors Morgan Sindall for the design, supply and installation of the SIPs Penthouse structure to a new 60 bed executive level hotel accommodation at Henley Business School. Each bedroom is equivalent to the standards and specifications of four-star accommodation.
Sustainability and energy efficiency is a key feature of the build, with the use of high quality, low energy and responsibly sourced Green Guide specified materials to meet the BREEAM standards. That’s why SIPs were such an obvious choice! Lightweight, thermally efficient, quick and quiet to install as the construction was carried our during term time.
The architectural style and materials used for the new buildings complement the campus’s historic attributes, remaining sympathetic to the main campus building’s Grade 2 listing and its unique setting by the Thames. The use of SIPs allowed us to provide the watertight structure quickly and the façade treatment to follow, off the critical path of works.
