Rossendale Self Build

This SIP house build showcases how SIPs enable homeowners to enjoy both design freedom and outstanding energy efficiency.

McVeigh Offsite were appointed by Shirley and Robert to construct their dream home in Macclesfield—designed with both comfort and long-term energy efficiency in mind. To maximise internal floor space and achieve excellent thermal performance, we specified 142mm SIP panels for the external walls and 172mm SIP panels for the roof. This SIP house build showcases how SIPs enable homeowners to enjoy both design freedom and outstanding energy efficiency.

Due to the site conditions, we completed the installation of the SIP walls and timber frames entirely by hand—demonstrating the versatility of SIP house construction even in less accessible settings. A city crane was brought in to lift and position the steel rafters and SIP roof panels, ensuring structural precision and safety throughout the process.

Our installation team thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, collaborating closely with the clients to bring their vision to life. Shirley and Robert were on-site daily, watching with excitement as their forever home took shape in a matter of days. Each phase of the build brought their plans to life, and by the end of the week, they could clearly visualise the future they’d imagined.
