Cross Laminated Timber, also know as CLT, is a type of structural engineered wood product comprising of layers of planed wood that have been finger-jointed and glued together into panels using polyurethane glue (PUR). The layers are arranged perpendicular to each other, which gives CLT its remarkable solidity. Often used in walls, floor and roof applications.
CLT offers many advantages to traditional construction materials. It’s a low impact material with a significantly less embodied carbon footprint than steel and concrete construction. This lightweight product has exceptional strength and durability for various applications. In relation to site activity, it is considerably better since it is clean, with significantly less waste generated on site, fewer wet trades, and less dust-producing brick and block operations.
Here at McVeigh Offsite Ltd we specialise in structural timber solutions to suit all projects. As a result, we’re focussing our future on highly efficient building envelops using the ‘Fabric First’ approach to sustainable construction. Within our own manufacturing facility precision engineering ensures every panel fits perfectly and streamlines the on-site process.
At McVeigh we can design, supply and install your CLT and if often compliments the other services we provide. We offer our specialist support with a single point of contact throughout the whole process ensuring customer understanding and satisfaction.
